Women in Chairs 2025: ALL OUR YESTERDAYS

These works have been created over a period of the last 3 years (2023-2025) and are a deep dive into the “work” that goes into being pregnant, giving birth, the postpartum period, and nursing. Throughout a series of sketches, self portraits, large drawings and painting on paper and canvas, and portraits of my children, I aim to explore the magic in the shadows and the vivid details in the mundane moments of everyday life as a mother. Whether that is the world seeming to pass me by while I sit and hold my baby while he naps, the exhaustion that I feel from being up all night nursing, endless snack times, how numb I have become to having my chest exposed in order to nurse the baby at all times of the day, or the sweet face of my children as they yearn for my attention and affection at all hours of the day.
