Week 4 into my “Playful Project” and this week was heavy and deep. I continued my daily self portraits this week and I noticed that the “work” from the prior week where I was diving into portraits of my relatives was deeply impacting my work. I considered their perspectives, their culture, their struggles… Within the last few weeks, this project has single-handedly opened so many doors I never thought possible, I've heard so many stories I never knew existed, and made connections I could not have imagined in my wildest dreams.
